Warm up this winter with Argentine tango, the dance of one heart and four legs. This South American form blends structured movement with improvisation for a danced conversation with your partner.
Part II runs Feb 7-Mar 6. (Part I ran Jan 3-31.)
6:45-7:45 Beginner Argentine Tango II: This series is for dancers who took the first series, in January, and for dancers with some Argentine tango experience and instruction. We will strengthen and build on what we know, which may include the cross, the eight-count basic, walking systems, ochos, and more. Come solo or with a partner/friend. Gender-fluid partnering welcome. Wear comfortable clothes and clean, indoor-only shoes or socks. (High heels are not required.) Attend the Practica right afterward to review what you've learned and interact with more experienced tango dancers.
7:45-9:15 All-levels Practica: Argentine tango dancers gather to move to classic tango music and contemporary tango-able songs. There's plenty of time to ask Elizabeth questions, polish moves, and meet new dancers. No partner required. Gender-fluid partnering welcome.
