About the exhibit:
“Monarchs in the Mist: reflecting relationships with water”
On display at Axel Gallery in Waterbury VT, mid September through the end of October. Interactive Reception is oct 5 at 5-7pm. For more information please email andreas@inthehandsofbeauty.com
“Monarchs in the Mist” is an intimate collection of black and white images with references to Vermont's changing climate, landscape and our collective capacity to adapt and transform. The body of work reflects experiences of relationship with water held in the larger ecological context of land and place. The exhibit holds an invitation to enter a place of deep witnessing and reflection. It offers a doorway to reconnection with the many voices of water. What might unfold if we lean into our indigenous ancestors' consideration of elements of nature as animate beings who have their own wisdom, language and ways of moving with and through us? May we consider rebuilding in creative ways that hold the generations to come; that reflect and support the very real relationships between humans, animals, plants, the forests and streams, our livelihoods and communities, the elements, all.
