Join “soft rocks,” a sound and movement collective, for an evening of live experimental music and dance within the beautiful Horsford Gardens. Our June 13th performance will feature professional dance artists Jessie Owens, Hanna Satterlee, Danielle Tekut, Nicole Dagesse, and Beth Morelli, and professional musicians Matt LaRocca, Jeremy Frederick, and Kyle Saulnier. Committed to the artistry of improvisation, the group has been working together since late summer 2023. We craft immersive performances dedicated to each space, using varying scores that have been created and gathered within the group.
Please note this is an immersive performance and all audience members will be outside among the gardens. Customers with walkers, canes and wheelchairs have found the property to be accessible, but please be in touch with your accessibility questions/needs. Hanna Satterlee creates performance experiences and conceptual artworks for stage, site and film. Hanna holds degrees and certifications in dance therapy, psychology, performance, choreography, vinyassa/yin/restorative yoga, non-profit management and arts integration. Hanna shares these passions as an intergenerational educator, interdisciplinary performer + collaborator, experimental curator and event producer.

Jessie Owens is a performing artist, choreographer, and structural integration practitioner. She is the founder of ERGO/movement, a collaborative performance project based in Burlington, Vermont. She holds a BA in Dance and German Studies from Smith College and an MA in Health Arts and Sciences and Embodiment Studies from Goddard College, where her focus of study was on fascia and embodied adaptability. Jessie is passionate about fascia, our body’s most sensory-rich organ, and through this connective tissue, she explores the spaces where the art, science, and spirituality of the moving body intertwine. Jessie teaches embodiment and myofascial release practices, leads retreats, and is the owner/practitioner at Fulcrum Structural Integration and Myofascial Release. From 2002 to 2012, she performed with Burlington’s Spielpalast Cabaret, and was the group’s art director and co-producer from 2005 until 2013.
Nicole Dagesse is a Vermont native whose rural upbringing in the forests and fields is a direct inspiration for her movement style and choreographic desires. Combining her training in Modern Dance, Contact Improvisation, and Aerial Dance, Nicole approaches each new site with inquisitive play and rigorous movement research. Nicole earned her BFA in Dance and BS in Environmental Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where she was immersed in the creativity of the local dance scene. Nicole cites Wire Monkey Dance as a major influence in her work. It was while playing on the scaffolding that her 3-dimensional movement patterns began to develop, and her love of partnering work took flight. After several years dancing in the Boston area, Nicole felt it was time to continue her dance education as an artist and teacher, and moved to Boulder, Co.
