Angelina Ponzio Labate is a teaching and performing artist, choreographer, poet, student, storyteller and documentarian who is guided by Afrodiasporic traditions of Hip-hop, Street and Club Dance. Her experience includes: ongoing classes, trainings and club life;a Street Dance Teaching Certificate Candidacy with Rennie Harris University; a Certificate of Continuation from Moptop Universal; a terminal M.F.A in Choreography from Wilson College, mentored by Street Dance legend Dr. Rennie Harris; a B.A. from UCLA’s World Arts and Cultures Dance Program with a minor in Visual and Performing Arts Education, and an A.A. and an African Heritage Dance Certificate from City College of San Francisco. Angelina is the Director of Archives and Street Dance History for Rennie Harris Puremovement, and she teaches, researches, documents, and creates work for the stage, film, music videos and theater.
