Zoey November earned her B.A. in Dance from the University of Vermont, where she created and performed in a number of collaborative student and faculty works. Her work encourages purposeful reflection, sculpting experiences that invite the audience to engage with social and political issues in an accessible and open-minded environment. Currently, she is motivated by the intensity of emotion that people are experiencing both directly and indirectly as a result of global climate change and social inequality.
Zoey has studied contemporary dance, composition, improvisation, ballet, site specific work, and contact improvisation for several years at the Bates Dance Festival and with contemporary artists and choreographers in Montreal. She has performed in pieces choreographed by Heddy Maalem, Alexander Hille, Nikaio Thomashow, Lida Winfield, Paul Besaw, Paula Higa, and Julian Barnett. Her work has been selected for adjudication and performance at the American College Dance Association, and she has taught contemporary classes for children with disabilities through Corpuscule Danse, Montreal's first physically integrated dance company.
Zoey is a member of the company PH Dance, and she teaches ballet and adaptive dance classes at various studios in Montpelier and Burlington. Please reach out for more information about Zoey as a teacher.
